Collection Description
The Rita R. Bennett Collection at Regent University Library
The Rita R. Bennett Collection comprises more than 2,400 items related to the life and work of Dr. Rita Bennett. The Collection covers her life in ministry, first with her husband, Rev. Dennis Bennett, and then, following his passing in 1991, Dr. Bennett's building on their work until she joined him in the Lord’s Kingdom in 2021. The Collection includes letters, speeches, articles, photographs, newspaper clippings, published books, sound recordings, films, and original poems and musical compositions. In 2022, the Rita Bennett Collection joined the Rev. Dennis J. Bennett Papers, which have been housed at the Regent Library Special Collections since 2010. The Library also holds the archive of Rita Bennett's brother, Dr. William Standish Reed, founder of the Christian Medical Foundation and a leader in the charismatic movement from its inception.
