About VIVA

The Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA) is the consortium of nonprofit academic libraries within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

VIVA's mission is to provide, in an equitable, cooperative and cost-effective manner, enhanced access to library and information resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia's nonprofit academic libraries serving the higher education community.

VIVA Universal Borrowing program

Cooperative Borrowing Program allows Regent faculty, staff and students  to visit a participating VIVA school and check out material from the library.  This might be especially helpful for those living closer to another VIVA school. 

Not all VIVA schools are participating and there may be restrictions on the number and type of items one can borrow.  Please see the link below for more information on this project and which schools are involved. Regent faculty, staff and students should must comply with all policies of the library they are utilizing.

VIVA Borrowing Privileges

Authentication:  Students must show school ID and login to home university blackboard for proof of enrollment.

Lending Rules: 10 books at a time for a 30 day lending period. Overdue fines are $0.25/day; replacement fee is the cost of book + $25 processing fee.
