Faculty Support: Overview of Services for Law Faculty

Instruction & Teaching  Research & Scholarship  Law School Outcomes & Assessments

The primary purpose of Regent University Law Library is to anticipate and support the legal research, scholarship, and curricular need of the faculty, students, and administration of the School of Law.

Through the liaison program, which pairs each member of the law faculty with a member of the law library faculty, the Law Library provides a wide variety of instructional and scholarship support services.

Instruction & Teaching Support

  • Provide in-class lectures focused on resources and research methodology relevant to your course or particular assignments.
  • Arrange or provide in-class trainings for Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, HeinOnline, and other databases.

  • Facilitate traditional Course Reserves.

  • Monitor faculty research interests and work with faculty on preliminary research for scholarly projects, including identifying relevant resources in our combined electronic and physical collection.
  • Offer customized trainings for Research Fellows assigned to work with faculty on scholarly or other research projects.
  • Provide individual or small group trainings to law faculty on new electronic resources, database features, and research techniques. Look for upcoming "Know What Your Students (Should) Know lunch trainings.
  • Create current awareness alerts for specific areas of research interest.
  • Work with Law Public Services as needed to facilitate law faculty circulation, document delivery, and ILL requests, as well as requests for new materials.
