Because states recognize that service members and their families are required to move often and that this can be a hindrance to the practice of law by military spouses, many states admit spouses of active duty service members to the bar without additional examination even though they may not otherwise qualify for admission or reciprocity. The South Dakota Bar Exam is composed of all four parts of the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), however South Dakota is not a UBE state for purposes of reciprocity, and always includes one essay question on indian law.
