Library materials may be borrowed from the Regent University Library by bringing the items to the Resource Desk during normal library hours along with your student ID.
If you need assistance finding items, please ask at the Resource Desk.
Information on what may be borrowed, for how long, and how much overdue fines are can be found here.
Renewals may be requested by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by calling (757)352-4150, or by bringing proper ID to the Circulation Desk. Items may also be renewed online from the Library webpage, before the due date. Renewals and checkout privileges can be viewed here.
If the item you want is checked out, you can place a hold on the item so you can get it when it's returned.
This can be done online by finding the item in the online catalog and using the “Request” button, or by asking at the Circulation Desk. Once the item is returned, you'll get an email letting you know it's ready to pick up at the Circulation desk.
You can't place a hold on items the catalog says are "Available".
Library material may be returned at the Circulation Desk during normal operating hours. If the Library is closed, material can be placed in the book return located in the library parking lot.
If items are lost, damaged beyond repair, or not returned within 90 days after the due date, the patron will be charged for the replacement of the item. Replacement cost is determined based on the item and availability of a replacement.
Alternatively, a patron may purchase a copy of the exact same item to serve as it's replacement. The only cost will be a $10 processing fee. Please contact the Circulation Desk to obtain the information on the item to ensure a proper replacement is purchased. Bring the replacement item to the Circulation Desk to stop the billing process.
Unpaid Fines or Bills
Late returns or a delay in paying fines may result in a block being placed on the student’s account. Students will not be permitted to register for subsequent terms, grades will be held, and the University will not issue diplomas, official transcripts, etc.
Fines may be paid at the Circulation Desk with cash or check or online at the Regent University Library homepage. Payment may also be made by mailing a check, made payable to Regent University Library.
