Pre-registered Law Student Access to Law Library During Exam Period

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Unless previously authorized by the Law School Records Office, students are not permitted to take exams in the Law Library. Designated exam-taking space will be located in Robertson Hall. 

For pre-registered law students ONLY, access to Robertson Hall and the Law Library is as follows:

Robertson Hall Hours:

November 30 - December 11:         7:00 a.m.-midnight.

Law Library Hours:

November 26-30:                   Closed

November 30 - December 10:                   

Monday-Friday:        7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. 

Saturday:                   10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. 

Sunday:                      2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

December 11:                        7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

The Law Library will be operating during hours when the University Library is closed. No entry into University Library spaces will be permitted during these times.

Monday through Friday, library entry before 10:00 a.m. and after 6 p.m. will be available by tap-card access only during designated hours and will be system-limited to law students that have pre-registered. Tap-cards will be necessary to gain Library Building entry as well as to open the University Library main door.

The University Library will be closed Saturday-Sunday, November 5-6. The Law Library will be open as noted above. Pre-registered law students will be permitted tap-card Library Building and Library main door entry. No other students will be allowed to enter. EACH student will need to use their Law Library access card. Do not allow another individual to enter. Violation of RU facility access rules will subject you to law school and/or university discipline.

The Law Library service desk will close at 6 p.m. on December 11 and will resume normal operating hours on January 11. 

The University Library will operate on limited hours and access will be limited to faculty and staff for much of the Inter-session period. Consult the University Library website for details.

Masks are required in the Law Library. Please observe all social distancing mandates. 

  • What if I don't have an ID or access card? Library access cards are being automatically generated for new law students and will be distributed along with lanyards in LARW classes. Returning law students should be able to use their access card to open the doors at the University Library's main entrance during regularly scheduled hours of operation. 
  • What if my ID card does not work on the library door card reader? Call 757-352-4150 for assistance. 
  • Can I use my access card to enter when the Library is closed? No. Students may only enter the Library during regularly scheduled operational hours.

The Law Library supports the mission of the School of Law by assisting with the curricular, research, and technological needs of the faculty, students, and administration of the School of Law and the legal research needs of the Regent University community.

Holidays

NOTE: The Law Library will be closed September 6-7 in observance of Labor Day.

We are closed on MLKJ Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day (Sun-Mon), Thanksgiving Day (Thurs-Fri), and Christmas week through New Years Day. Building and service hours may be different in the summer and when classes are not in session. Please check our Facebook page for modified hours announcements.

Take exit 286-B from Interstate 64 at Indian River Road. Regent University will be immediately on your right. Under normal traffic conditions, Regent is a 15-minute drive from the Norfolk International Airport.

The Law Library occupies the entire 3rd floor of the Library building. Enter through the main doors of the University Library and proceed by stairs or elevator to the 3rd floor.
