Online Student Advice

.) Access books, e-books, articles, commentaries, and digital book chapters in Primo. Narrow your search to "Online Sources" only, or check out print books by using the "Request Regent's Copy" or "Request Physical Copy" links in Primo. The checkout period is six weeks, including mailing time, for books owned by Regent. Return the materials at your cost using the same mail service we use. OR use the "Request PDF of chapter or article" option to have one article or up to a chapter or 10% of a book scanned and emailed to you.

.) Contact a Research Librarian. Research services are available by appointment, e-mail, 24/7 chat, phone, and in workshops.

.) Advance your information literacy skills by making an appointment with a librarian for orientation, and by making the most of your UNIV LIB or Graduate Foundations in Divinity course.

.) Access divinity-specific databases. Explore the Divinity Subject databases listed in this guide (left-hand menu). Access full-text theses, dissertations, and D.Min. projects in these databases.

.) Use a theological library near you for free. Check the ATLA American Theological Library Association's Reciprocal Borrowing agreement page to see if a theological library near you is part of the nationwide group allowing you to check out books and use materials at other libraries, free of charge!

.) Request reimbursement for a Local Library Card. The library will reimburse the cost of one local library card for all currently enrolled Regent University students living more than 90 miles away from campus. Prior to purchasing a local library card, contact Dorothy Hargett by e-mail or by phone at 757-352-4152. Mrs. Hargett will provide information on the dollar amount that the library will reimburse you. Please investigate the cost of the library card that is desired before contacting Mrs. Hargett. You can use WorldCat.org to look up books in local libraries.
